Water Crossings and GRS IBS Structures

Water crossings require some form of engineering to move vehicles and people to the other shore. The most common of these structures are bridges, with others including culverts, backfills, and open bottom arches.

Base Geotechnical uses Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil–Integrated Bridge System (GRS–IBS) to help with bridge construction. The process involves using granular fill to reinforce land that provides support for the bridge, while ensuring a cost-effective method of bridge support that blends in with the roadway.
